Environment

Anglian Building Product’s Environmental Management System has been accredited by the British Standards Institute against the requirements of ISO 14001.

Sustainable Manufacturing

We are committed to sustainably manufacturing our products and using constituent materials that have been responsibly sourced, evidenced by our BES 6001 accreditation, an independent, third-party assessment and certification guarantee that demonstrates that we have an effective system for ensuring that we source products responsibly.

We also ensure that our external supply chain operate to an Environmental Management Strategy and have been vetted to ensure they meet the requirements of our Sustainable Procurement Policy. Our policy aims to engage suppliers who are committed to improving their overall social and environmental performance.

With a predominantly in-house supply chain, we can offer you greater environmental control over the project. We extrude our own PVC-U frames and rubber gaskets, cut and toughen glass, assemble double and triple glazed units and fabricate your bespoke PVC-U windows and doors, all on one single site at our extensive manufacturing facility in Norwich – and therefore minimising our carbon footprint.

Recycling

We have been recycling both factory waste and first generation PVC-U windows for many years through our closed-loop Recovinyl approved PVC-U recycling process. Any first generation old frames that we have upgraded in homes are recycled through this process. We co-extrude recycled materials and incorporate them into non-critical and non-visible parts of the new PVC-U windows and doors. Our PVC profiles contain up to 80% recycled PVC, without compromising appearance or performance. We send both deconstructed glass from site and factory offcuts to our glass recycling specialist. The recycled content of glass in our new products is typically up to 30%.

The uses are controlled by BS EN 12608.

We continue to develop our recycling strategies for each waste stream produced and our recycling target is between 95-98% on a typical project.

Think Local

We have a Think Local first strategy, and invest in the communities in which we live and work by opening depots and offering opportunities for employment, training and apprenticeships. As a fully accredited Investor in People organisation, we are committed to the continual development of our workforce through strategically delivered training programmes and apprenticeship opportunities, via our National Apprenticeship Programme, Our current target is to achieve a minimum of 5% apprentices within our workforce.

By having a national network of depots, we can service our customers more effectively and more efficiently, reducing miles travelled and our carbon footprint.

Through a Local Employment Partnership, we actively promote job opportunities for residents and monitor our local supply chain spending, reinforcing our commitment to fostering sustainable employment growth and meaningful community impact wherever we operate.

Services We Offer

ABP is the UK's largest, end-to-end manufacturer and installer of doors and windows for social housing, but we're about so much more than that. Manufacturing and installing top-quality products is a given, but as any service provider to this sector knows, successful relationships rely on collaboration, true partnership models and advice to RSLs to help improve the quality of their housing stock in the best way possible.
